These week we have been doing some work for Fairtrade fortnight. Mrs Fox has been providing us with Toast and Fairtrade jam and chocolate spread at breaktime, as well as making Fairtrade Flapjacks, they ahve gone down very well with both the pupils and staff.
Mrs Fox and Mrs Hunt have held assemblies to explain to us all about Fairtrade and on Friday 26th February we are having a non uniform day where we are going to dress in the colours of one of the fairtrade countries.
Show Racism the Red Card.
Mrs Spencer and 3 children from years 5 and 6 went to the Civic hall to see a presentation about 'Showing Racism the Red Card'. The afternoon involved the children watching a DVD with lots of famous sports people talking about what racism is and how we should not allow it to happen in our society. After the DVD, the children asked questions to a panel of people including Brian Dean ex Leeds United player. We will be showing the DVD in school in the near future.
