Foundation Stage
Week commencing 18/01/10
We have had a busy few weeks since coming back from the Christmas break, we have started our new science topic and have been busy making stars and moons.
Week commencing 16/11/09
The children have enjoyed making salt dough fruit and vegetables, to sell in our class shop. We have started to practise our Christmas play and can't wait to perform it for our families.
Week commencing 09/11/09
The children have enjoyed learning the story of 'Little Rabbit Foo Foo' and doing the actions. We have also been exploring balancing scales and finding out which objects are heavier and lighter.
Week commencing 02/11/09
We have started a new topic called 'At the shops'. We have made fruit and vegetables to sell in our class shop, and have started to write shopping lists.
Week ommencing 19/10/09
This week we have been learning the story of The Little Red Hen, the children enjoy retelling the story and doing the actions. We have been sorting different foods into "yuck and yum sets for a display in our classroom.
Week Commencing 21/09/09
This has been the first full week for our new Reception children and they have been very busy settling in and finding there way around school.

Reception
Week commencing 13/7/09
Foundation and Year 1 went on a trip to Eureka. It was a great day out. The children really enjoyed all the interactive activities.
Week commencing 15/6/09
Our topic this half term is people who help us. We have made our own model of a police man and a lollipop lady. Next week we are also going to be making our own emergency vehicles to drive along our road maps.
Week commencing 11/5/09
This week we have been learning about pushing and pulling. We have been trying to make vehicles go faster or slower by building different ramps.
Week commencing 4/5/09
This week we have been learning about different forms of transport. We have done a traffic survey and made lorries and cars out of re-cycled materials.
Week commencing 30/3/09
In literacy we have planted some broad beans (but they are taking a while to grow shoots). We are hoping that our Easter cress pots will also grow soon.
Week commencing 2/3/09
We have been busy making paper plate spiders and frogs. We have also made symmetrical butterflies for our jungle area.
Week commencing 23/2/09
In Reception this week we have started our In the Jungle topic and have been looking at animal patterns and making lots of spots and stripes paintings.
Week commencing 26/1/09
We are still busy looking at planets and making them for our into space topic. We have also been learning about 2D and 3D shapes and doing shape pictures.
Week commencing 16/1/09
Reception have started a new topic called Into Space. We have been playing in the space station and making rockets and space pictures.
Week Commencing 8/12/08
The reception and KS1 children enjoyed a fantastic nursery rhyme play from a visiting theatre group. We enjoyed joining in with the songs and seeing the nursery rhyme garden.
Week Commencing 1/12/08
In literacy we have been writing our Christmas lists to Santa.He is going to be a very busy man this year (busier than normal!!). We also enjoyed watching the tudor dance performance when the woodwind trio visited us this week.
