A WORLD OF SOUND

Our theme this half term is 'A World of Sound'.  Each class will develop the theme in a different way but for most this will give pupils opportunities to develop their geography skills and to study sound in the local environment and/or in other countries.  For example, Class 1 is finding out about rainforests, especially the sounds which may be heard there.  All classes will have a music focus - for some this is the music of another country.  Some children will be composing and older pupils will be using ICT for recording and arranging sounds.  Our worship theme is Listening.  We have started by thinking about how we her and thanking God for the amazing gift of hearing.  We are going on to consider the huge variety of sounds around us - including music; to learn about how to be good listeners; and finally to think about how prayer can include both talking  and listening to God.
